Alongside two premieres, the coming “Open Spaces“ in February offers numerous special forums for exchange regarding choreographic practice and theory. The still-closed laboratory spaces of “Teatime“ or “P-Laboratory“ will open their doors to an interested audience for the first time following the conclusion of a workphase. Practice and discourse regarding the various form of artists work will also be the primary focus of the well-established Studio 13. In addition, “Open Spaces“ will take a look backward into the past: the nearly 40-year history of Tanzfabrik Berlin as an institution will be the central focus of an installation and a series of conversations. Dewey Dell also approaches the past in her new performance, which examines prehistoric times and searches for the origins of human movement.
For this edition of “Open Spaces“, Tanzfabrik Berlin is cooperating with the P-Bodies Festival, the Free University of Berlin and the Inter-University Centre for Dance Berlin of the Berlin University of the Arts, the Dance On Ensemble, PACT Zollverein Essen, Kollektive Arbeit, the advancing performing arts project and numerous other partners. Welcome!
